How to succeed as a woman part 2 : I'd end in the kitchen anyway?

Happy to continue the series we started on how to succeed as a woman.

TRUE OR FALSE: How many of the statements below are True

1.) The man in the family is expected to be the provider
2.) A woman does not have as much pressure as her male counterpart regarding climbing the work place ladder quickly
3.) The chances of having solutions to most monetary problems are high with a wealthy partner
4.) A truly successful woman is known by the success of her home. A neat woman is also known by her living conditions
5.) Most women aged 20 - 40 in my/your state of origin are happily married or on the way to marriage.


For most of us, we see this as true or a widely held belief. Society has taught women that they have no need to aspire to be great, doing okay is good enough and women should be dependent on men ( Fathers, husbands, and appalling but inclusive boyfriends and male acquaintances).

Now this is the point where you read the above 5 statements again and try to justify that there is nothing wrong with each of them.
Let me save you further stress and show you the original 5 thoughts that have been dressed up to look like the 5 above.

5.) Marriage is a milestone all women must achieve.

Argue all you want but with in built restrictions in your head telling you that a man has more need of success e.t.c, you may not be able to succeed.
I do not mean to trivialize the role of women in family and society building but women have to think of themselves as owing our society and girls unborn more.

Remove the stereotypes, No, A man should not be the only provider especially in the face of the recent economic downturn. whether it is taking care of junior's snack or your undergarments, bring something to the table.
As much as I feel for the woman who does not earn a salary or have a paid job, sorry I have to break it to you. You may need to offer to wash hubby or daddy's car for that N500 the car wash charges.Does that sound extreme? Get the message, think of little money earning opportunities around you.
